We are here

We made it to the capital city with no problems or delays. The weather is beautiful as well as the city. Our apartment is small - basically a studio type but it is nice and clean. This morning (Tues.) we had our SDA appointment. It took all of about 5 min.! We were shown a picture of Ember to verify that is who we were adopting, then asked to tell them a bit about ourselves, and then it was over. Tomorrow we pick up her referral paperwork and catch our 15 train ride to her region.
We spend some time seeing some of the sights and walking the streets. It has been pleasant and interesting so far. Thursday is the day we expect to finally meet Ember. We did find out that she has no siblings and was born to a single mom. I probably won't update again until Thurs. night when I hope to have pictures of Ember to share!

  1. I'm glad you made it here safe. Praying that all continues to go well.

  2. We will be praying for you and will be following Ember's story! Glad all is going well. Praying for your family at home too and for you to have His peace while you are there. Just remember... the same God that watched over and cared for Ember while you were not there will watch over and care for your other children while you are not home. Many hugs and prayers, Grace

  3. Glad you made it safe and sound and the SDA appt went well. Enjoy the 15 hour train ride! I slept pretty much the entire 15 hours. It was a beautiful thing! Can't wait to see pictures of Ember! Looking forward to you meeting your daughter!

  4. I hope we get to see a close up picture of Ember's beautiful eyes as she meets her mama and papa. I have a feeling it will be love at first sight! Keep the seats warm on the train for us :)
can't wait to meet you two.

  5. So glad you made it safe. It looks like you have seen some interesting things so far. Praying for safety for you all. Enjoy the ride! Really, I hope you are able to take time to savor and enjoy this experience.
    Can't wait to see Ember!

  6. We are so glad you arrived safely. How nice that you have had a little time to explore the culture that Ember comes from! We are praying that the court date will be very soon so that no more time and expense will be necessary.

The boys seem to be doing very well with Janet. They are such good kids! From what I hear from Leanne, Sienna is adjusting too. Leanne's girls love Sienna because they can play with her hair. Typical of little girls isn't it?

Ember's world will be turned upside down but so will her sister Sienna's world! She will have to get used to sharing her brother's undivided attention with her sister. A period of adjustment for everyone!

Can't wait until you meet Ember face-to-face!We will look forward to seeing pictures of that exciting event! It won't be long now.

    We love you all!

  7. Love and prayers to all of you. Becky Boland

  8. cannot wait to see pictures of her :) good luck!
    have fun!
